Infiniti is mercifully putting its aging dual-screen infotainment setup out to pasture with the QX60's redesign, which now uses a single 12.3-inch touchscreen that features Android Auto as well as wireless Apple CarPlay. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard as well and higher trim levels can be ordered with a three-zone system that also includes an air purifier. Both front seats offer eight-way power adjustments as well as heat but Infiniti also offers niceties such as ventilated front seats, a massage feature, and heated rear seats as options. The luxed-up cabin is convincing, with posh materials used throughout and extra sound-deadening efforts to provide more solace from the outside world. Interior, Comfort, and CargoĪlthough the cabin has been dramatically redesigned, the 2022 QX60 retains its three-row interior layout, which means space for up to seven passengers the top-spec Autograph model comes with second-row captain's chairs which reduces passenger capacity to six. When we get the chance to test the new QX60 we will update this story with results. A front-wheel drive model we tested in 2019 delivered a decent 26 mpg over our 75-mph highway fuel economy test route. The EPA hasn't posted any fuel economy estimates for the 2022 QX60 yet, but the previous model did well in this metric. When we have a chance to take the QX60 to our test track, we'll update this story with test results.Ģ022 Infiniti QX60 Has Family Luxury in Mind The ride is stiffer than we expected for what otherwise is a comfy cruiser, especially on the optional 20-inch wheels. During our initial test drive of the 2022 QX60, we appreciated the new nine-speed automatic's smooth shifts and well-controlled body motions when cornering. The QX60 offers up to 6000 pounds of towing capacity, an increase of 1000 pounds over the outgoing 2020 model's rating. All-wheel drive will be optional but the new QX60 will continue to ride on a front-wheel drive-based platform. The 2022 QX60 is powered by a 295-hp V-6 engine that carries over from 2020, but Infiniti has dropped the old model's continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) in favor of a more traditional nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard and will likely be fine for most buyers but all-wheel drive is a $2000 option. It comes standard with premium features such as massaging front seats, heated second-row seats, an air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, a motion-activated power liftgate, and a 17-speaker Bose stereo system. The Sensory trim is the model we'd suggest. The 2022 QX60 is a ground-up redesign of the brand's three-row mid-size SUV complete with more dramatic styling and a more premium cabin. The mid-size SUV market is hot and the QX60 will face stiff competition from rival SUVs such as the BMW X5, the Lincoln Aviator, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-class, but it looks as though Infiniti has created something new and fresh while redesigning this crucial member of the brand's SUV lineup. That powertrain consists of a 295-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a nine-speed automatic. Under the hood, buyers will find the same powertrain that's in the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder-the QX60's country cousin.
